This may well be the way all the factory leather looks but some confirmation would be appreciated. I only have 2400 miles on the car and the driver seat cushion has a pretty deep crease in the leather where most of my weight presses in (i'm only 155 lbs). The first attached photo shows the seat cushion . Is this typical ? Also noticed that all the seats have a somewhat fanned or quasi pleated look. That is to say that they intentionally use more leather than needed and give it a draped look. I show this in my 2nd attachment. Should I be concerned about any of this or does everyone's package 6 interior look like this. I'm thinking the driver cushion is going to look very ugly if this is only afte 2 months. I know lately I've been posting a lot of minor issues so please forgive me if I am seeming to be neurotic or obcessive compulsive about a car. Actually its not a car for crying out loud - it's a PRIUS -LOL
I don't have leather. But all the Priuses I see with factory leather look like yours. Personally, I like the way it looks.
It's normal, and normal. The 'draped' look is mostly showing at the weight-load area on the seat. This is to prevent the leather from being too stretch-out (then cracked!) during normal use/seating. e.g. a 250lbs guy using the seat all the time.
Well, thats not really the reason. Plenty of leather seats are not gathered in that area. Its purely for style.
Thanks for all the responses. I thought the draped look was normal but still am wondering about that deep crease in my drivers seat. Any suggestions about that or just forget it ?
Try to apply some Leather Lotion (for Auto), see if it can soften the crease up to make it less visible.
