While driving home from work tonight, I switched from my Energy Monitor screen to the Consumption screen and was pleased to see that I'm getting 54.5mpg on the current tank of gas. As my eyes went back to the road, a small SUV (a Suzuki, I believe) passed me in the center lane. He had a decal (not a bumper sticker) on his rear window that read: "23+mpg! What are you getting?" I guess that happiness truly is in the eye of the beholder! He probably traded in his Hummer for the Suzuki???
I think it was a put-down against the SUV driver, but then again, he deserves it and isn't a member of PriusChat. Tom
I was waiting in the Office Depot for a truck to get out of the way so I could pull into a parking space. As the truck pulled out an SUV came up behind it and pulled in right in front of me...while I was rolling. No way she didn't see I was headed into that space. But...I didn't rage. I didn't swear. I didn't even call her the inconsiderate female dog that she was. I looked at her vehicle and thought....I'm getting three times the mileage you are. I pulled drove around and pulled into another space and smiled as I went into the store.
Actually it was a slight (very slight!) dig at the OP (it was a joke!) about their incorrect use of the word 'ironic'. Not sure why I wrote this post because my intent was to come off as a nice guy.... yet instead...... Hmmmm....
I love the TV commercials. Dodge is bragging about how many of their cars get "up to 30 mpg", while Toyota braggs about the ones that get "at least 30". Different mindset. (I just wanted to add my 1000th post)
