This is nearly 10 years old now...a lifetime in internet terms...but this is the first Vanity site I set up about myself and my wife. I set it up with AOL b/c it was free and it was an easy step by step process and seemed like fun. In the 10 years it was up it looks like I had a grand total of 2300 hits...about the same PC gets per minute!!! Anyway, AOL sent out notices today that they'll no longer be maintaining their FTP/Hometown services and that if I want my stuff I need to save it. I may do that just to have it like an old scrapbook, but the photos there have been compressed almost beyond recognition (by AOL, not me). Still, it's a fun read from my earliest days in Alaska. http://members.aol.com/EFusco/index.html :yo:
Probably lived <10 miles from her. I lived in Palmer which is the very close neighbor town of Wasilla...my wife's clinic was in Wasilla.
Superb! Long live the background image that makes the overlying text difficult to read. I take the piss because I love. That is a truly vintage site and really captures what the web still was 10 years ago. You should create a museum site.
Your site reminded me of one a friend of mine made about 12-13 years ago. He spent a lot of time creating it, but after the first month he only had about 100 hits and many of them were from him. He was very disappointed in the lack of traffic. I wrote a script to "hit" his site a couple of times per minute around the clock and let it run for several months until he lost interest in maintaining the site. He was pleased in the interest in the site and I never confesed what I did...
Alright, I'll call your website and raise you mine: http://www.geocities.com/tonypschaefer/ Unfortunately, the navigation requires Internet Explorer.
