Pumping the Accelerator

I thought my wife of 45 years does that, I notice it on the open
highway the most. Just drives me crazy...

 

I think you may have misunderstood, perhaps due to lack of information on my part.

I "pump" the accelerator during heavy traffic (average speed: going 5-14mph), to force the ice to turn on for a quick pulse, as opposed to draining the battery by semi-creeping forward at 25amps.
