Well I just bought an 2005 Toyota Prius tan w/ tan interior. Its got 118k miles on it and it looks like its got 30k! I just purchased it from a BMW dealership here in Houston and its a 1 owner. I currently own a 2009 Toyota Matrix XRS and loved it, but have been wanting to purchase a Prius for years now. I finally got my hands on this one and it was such a deal! It has smart key which i LOVE and brand new tires along with a ton of add ons. I was very suprised that there was no scratches or even rock chips on it! The only thing I could find was that the carpeted mats had some dirty on them, which I have now cleaned! I gave her its first good waxing today, it obviously had not had one in a very LONG time! I did have a question... Is there ANY way to turn off the horrid buzzer when you put it into R? Its the only thing that drives me nuts about the car.. HAHA PLEASE HELP ME!
Welcome to PriusChat from another newbie. Disabling the annoying reverse beep was the second modification I did to my new Prius. The first was removing the dealer advertising from the car.
Thanks SOO much for the link, it was a GREAT help! Yeah, Thats the first thing I do to my cars when I get them is remove all badging from the dealership and give a good detailing! Thanks for ya'lls help!

I am a newbie to the site but have had two Prius cars - 2002 and 2004. I have the smart key and think every car should have it! No more "locked in the car" keys. I have found that I always get better mileage on the highway than in town and usually get over 50 mpg on trips. My 2004 has 88000 miles and no problems at all. I bought both cars used after they were 2 years old. I am anxious to learn more about the 2010 but not ready for a new one yet.
I agree, the smart key is great feature. How fast do you usually go on your highway trips? 50 mpg sounds good for highway driving.
The reason I bought my car was because I wanted smart key SOO bad! I havent had a chance to take it out on the highway yet... As I live in Houston and do all inner city driving everyday. I was getting so tired of setting in traffic with my 09 Matrix that I had been actually looking to buy a Prius for ages, just couldnt get one I could afford or liked! Ive put 68 miles since I purchased and gotten 44.8 mpg! YAY
