I'm having a problem unlocking my car. I have SKS on my 2007 touring prius. When I put my hand on the door handle it no longer unlocks the door for me. I have tried taking my key out of my pocket and holding it closer but this doesn't help. On top of this if I manually hit the unlock button on the FOB all doors unlock but the drivers side. I must go around to the passenger side and go into the car to manually unlock the door. What is going on here? Any quick fixes?
upon further investigation the drivers side door will unlock by manually doing it from the inside or inserting the actual key in the door. The door will not even unlock if i hit the unlock button on the door inside the car (the one next to window up/down) however the door will lock correctly using all methods
It is probably the solenoid gone bad, or a loose wire to the solenoid. It should be covered under warranty.
can overuse of the door locks cause this? as in if there was something in front of the sensor for too long and it was constantly trying to unlock but couldnt b/c the fob wasnt within range?
I found this video on youtube. this is exactly my problem now to find out how to replace that actuator myself...
