Look carefully at the wording from the "Toyota Perfect Timing Event" ad shown below - which is currently underway. Does this not imply that you should be able to get "special savings and great rates" on a 2010 if in fact 2010s are to be delivered before 6/1? "Looking to buy? Now could be the perfect time. Toyota is kicking off its Perfect Timing Event, the largest sales event of the year. Toyota dealerships across the country are offering special savings and great rates on all new Toyota vehicles (my emphasis) now through June 1. "
Hmmm, I may have mine next weekend (fingers crossed) so maybe, hopefully, probably not........ Where did you see the ad?
Probably trying to get rid of all 2009 Prius... The one I saw at several dealerships's websites only mentioned 2009 Prius.
This ad is appearing on TV and on the web at <buyatoyota.com>. Wouldn't we just love to have this apply to the 2010s!!! When digging into the web ad you will find mentioned the 2008 and 2009 Prius models, plus most other Toyota vehicle models.
My dealer says I won't get mine until after June 1st. The ship docks on May 29th. Then the Port has to process it. So for the East Coast that's probably about right. No idea about the West Coast.
That is just when the incentives end on the 2008 and 2009 product. It has no bearing on the 2010 Prius.
Nope, mine wont come in until after June. I was supposed to pick it up in Calif. on Sat. Oh well, I will save more money until then, and there's always you guys and gals to keep me occupied Email from my dealer: Julie, I just hung up the phone with the Distribution Manager for Toyota n. Ca. Toyota from the factory level has made the decision that all dealers will receive their first Prius the first week of June. They will not negotiate because I think they want all of the dealerships to have the opportunity to go to training and see the car at a factory sponsored ride and drive prior to any customer taking delivery. I know this won't be easy for you in regard to the extra 3 weeks, however, at least you have been guaranteed the first car to arrive.
This is pretty much what my dealer had said. I guess the East and West Coasts will have the same release time. It's too bad you can't get it this weekend but at least the dealer told you before you made the trip down there. Plus you will still get the car you want.
Back in late February I sent an email to my Toyota dealership asking about their expected 2010's...through the magic of email a full 2 months later (and after I decided to go with a 2009 instead)...I got a call from them today asking if I wanted to pre-order a 2010. I liked the 2009 more...so no biggie. Obviously, since I just bought a 2009 in late-March, I declined but was told I could pre-order for MSRP and they would be on the lot in mid-June or early July but no earlier than that. Anyone that gets the 2010 in May is fortunate...looks like most will get theirs in June. Can't wait to see them on the road.
