Went through the 8-12" snow bank end of driveway, now there is a loud humming noise and vibration when engine brake engages or regenerative braking auto applies after letting off gas pedal. There is also loud humming noise when car is idle and heat is on. Dealer will not get to this for a few weeks. Pulled most of snow out of grill and tires. Any ideas? Don't want to damage anything until it gets repaired.
Are you able to park it in a warm (above freezing garage)? If so, give it time to allow all of the packed snow and ice to melt and then see if the sound and vibration persist. By the way -- great looking wheels. What are they?
Thx, they're Enkie RS5, from Rav4, tires are Kumho ZR 225,R18,40. Good point about garage, forgot to mention I ran it through the car wash today in hopes to clean out what ever was lodged in the front of the car. Noticed black grill by fog lights was pushed in, radiator fins are bent too. Prius is not a very good winter vehicle, looks like more damage than I thought for 5mph through snow. I'll post result$ from dealer. Check out my other rides at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/30487 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2540902
They replaced front grill, bumper cover, paint, misc for $949... Vibration caused by ice/snow. Overnight in warm dealer garage fixed. No problems in 6 months...
