Just found this while poking around online. Not sure if it's been posted before, but just more negitive things to read. Problem is, sooo many people believe this crap. Was on youtube, found that video of the classic Prius getting shot at. SOOO many negitive things being said about them on there, it really makes me sad/mad to know that people actually believe things like "it pollutes more to make a Prius then a hummer makes in it's whole life". I bet they haven't read June's Popular Mechanics. They took a brand new Challenger, beefed up the engine to over 500 hp. Then, they stuck a 300V electric motor on top of that to provide another 125 hp and massive torque of course.
Its not difficult to find ignorant, ill-informed people posting on the internet on virtually any subject. It is important to develop critical thinking skills so that you can separate the good information from the huge pile of crap.

Luckily, the cats out of the bag - so to speak - and there's enough Priuses on the road now to get the story out that the Prius is pretty much a normal car that just happens to get great gas mileage. Unfortunately, many drivers are still determined to believe these types of flat out lies even though friends, co-workers, family, etc. are telling them the opposite (of what Spike is dishonestly reporting).
In this case, the best reply would be a link to the U-tube short about the 'pimp' sneaking up and 'cappin' his competition. <grins> Answer in kind, my friends, answer in kind. 5.) Did he say some kind of Dodge got 34 MPG in the 1970's? These morons love to quote a highway MPG rating to compare with a hybrid. Whateva. Quote an average MPG with that Dodge. The Gen2 car takes a lot of crap. Doesn't help when a bunch of big dudes sit in it and think OMG this is cramped. The Gen 3 car will dowse the flames for sure. More power, more space, bigger seats, more room in front seats .... these are huge gains for the Prius. And notice what Toyota said in the first commercial ... 'You get more power and more space ... Toyota is marketing the 2010 well
