I've been patiently waiting for Prius III to come in. The dealership that offered me the best price (which was MSRP + 750) has only gotten their hands on one with navigation, which I don't want. That strikes me as interesting after seeing the post about some sitting around unsold in other areas. All of the other dealers in my area (metro Atlanta) were much higher price-wise. Anyone else in the metro Atlanta area or the southeast in general having difficulty? Thanks, Jonathan
It was titled "dealer fee." Translation - additional profit. At this point it is still by far the lowest price I could get out of the 5 dealerships in metro Atlanta. Right now I have no car (my old one was totalled) so wait a couple of months in order to negotiate a better price is not a viable option.
WoW, I have seen some members here on PC getting one for 500.00 below MSRP. Any Dealers outside Metro Atlanta?
I wish. Someone else just posted a window sticker of a metro Atlanta dealership with an $2995 market adjustment. Most of the dealers I called had 1 or 2 total in stock, and quoted very high prices. One said $35,000++ for a Prius IV. I chuckled and hung up the phone.
WoW, No Wonder They Call It HOTLanta! I would check dealers Outside Atlanta also The Close By States to you. There are deals to be had, BUT at least pay no more than MSRP. Good Luck!
I'm in Nashville - no one's charging above MSRP, seems like. You might have to wait a few weeks for one to ship in, even though a couple dealers have called me to say they have one on the lot. We're not in the SET region, which seems to have a bad reputation.
SET area sucks. Lower profit margin for dealers mean higher prives for consumers and unlike our "Prius Team" on the West Coast, you can't get information from anyone at SET.
Jonathan, I too live in Atlanta, and have been pissed off after being told by dealer after dealer that they were charging markups (usually in the $2-3,000 range). I've ordered my 2010 from Capital Toyota in Chattanooga. They charged me MSRP + a $300 document fee, which is probably crap, but it's better than what the Atlanta dealers are doing. I would suggest calling Capital Toyota, they were great, and are expecting several Prius' this month.
