car is starting to do the shaking when i put the brakes on and i can feel the brake pedal pulsing, so how much can i expect to pay for new rotors at a normal shop, not toyota? also, it just started doing this and i just got new brakes, so when do I need to get these replaced? is it better to do it now instead of later? and how long can i drive like this until it is metal on metal. thanks!
i paid 380 for front pads and rotor turning ("lathing" to eliminate the distortion) turning is cheaper than replacing, if yuor situation allows for a turning
Who did the brake job? If it was me i'd be back there screaming bloody murder. If they didn't check the rotors they should be beat over the head until they make it right.
If you "just got new brakes", exactly what did you get - just disc pads? If new rotors had been installed then you have grounds to complain. However I am wondering why your brake shop did not measure the rotor thickness and report to you the need for new rotors. Since your braking system is required for safety I suggest that you have the system repaired sooner vs. later. Assuming that new pads were just installed, you'll have to wait a very long time before "metal on metal".
