i wonder if the prius (II) still has auto headlight off when the door is opened and the car is turned off? fred from nashville
They dont go off right away when the door is opened(like my 05 tacoma did) but they go off about 60 seconds after you turn off the car, or close the door. one of those 2, dont remember. Dont drive alot at night.
Your question rang a bell, so I went to the owners manual for my 2009. In the very back - page 487 in my book - under "Customizable features" it indicates that the "Automatic light control system" has a default setting of 60 seconds of time elapsed before the headlights automatically turn off after the doors are closed. However, it also indicates that this can be customized (by the dealer, I believe) to 0, 30, or 90 seconds. (There is also some info on Daytime runing lights, which are on by default for Canada, as is required.) I don't understand why, but my new ( I was first to test drive it, then bought it) 2009 Touring was already set to zero seconds after the doors are closed when I took delivery.
2009 ones are linked to the driver's door and they immediately turn off when the driver's door is opened. There is no delay. The 2010 are linked to a timer.
