My wife and I are looking for a 2009 Prius and I would like to know how to figure out what is a reasonable price to pay. I have the dealer prices from Consumer Reports including holdback and $1,000 customer incentive. It sounds like the 2010 models are going for MSRP. Is this also true for the 2009? I know there are not too many new 2009 models available. How much should I pay over dealer cost? Thanks for any info!
My wife and I bought our '09 Package 4 on May 7th. We got $1770 off MSRP and took advantage of the 0% financing for 60 months from Toyota Financial Services. Compared to a 5% car loan of the same duration, we are saving over $3,000. We love the car.
I wouldn't pay any premium for a 2009. You'd be better off getting a low mileage certified 2008-2009 than paying a premium for a brand new 2009.
