I was wondering if anyone else experienced problems pulling out on a wet road with the GY Conforttreads. From what I read they seemed like a good tire so I had installed them on my wifes Prius and they seemed fine at first. The other day we had a steady rain all day and when ever I went to pull out, the traction control would kick in several times. They seem as bad as the original Integreties. I only had the inflation at 36/34. Did anyone else have trouble in wet weather? Any suggestions?
First, fill out your Profile; that information is helpful for future responses. I've had 2 sets of Comfortreads on my 2006 Prius and never had a problem. I live in South Florida where summer rain is a daily event. I ran 38/36 with mostly highway driving and they were a hugh improvement ofer the Integrities. 1. Are they brand new? It takes a while (500-1,000 miles) for the tire mold compound to wear off. 2. Are you driving too agressively with your new tires? 3. Where do you live/what do you drive?
Sorry guys. We live in PA. The tires are on my wife's 2005 Prius and they've been on for approx 4000 mi. We both experienced the problem while driving it in the rain. I also have a Prius that I had TripleTreads on with no traction problems.
