So, I have a Lenova (IBM) R52, series 1860- notebook. I would like to upgrade the RAM. Every site I've been to, including two sites that run "system analyzer" software, tells me that my laptop will take TWO 1GB RAM chips. However, beneath the RAM cover on the bottom there is only ONE RAM chip bank. IBM says that it will take two. Does anyone else have this particular laptop, and can you tell me where the second RAM chip is supposed to go? Please? Thanks.
NEVERMIND... my DH just found it, it's under the keyboard! Well, that will be fun to change out. Thanks all
You can usually google "how to replace RAM in ..." or something to that effect. to find instructions, to make sure you do things correctly. Even as a compputer Tech, I will often look for instructions, because laptops are build so many different ways.
Go to Walmart or Walgreens, etc. and buy an eyeglass repair kit that includes a (tiny) Phillips screwdriver. It will be the right size for laptop repair and upgrades. I carry one with me everywhere, tucked in my Leatherman case. http://www.amazon.com/dp/product/B000VB6IDG?tag=priuschatcom-20
