Haven't seen this thread... To reset the "Service Oil" message, simply turn off the car, then turn it back on holding the KPH/MPH button...
You didn't tell the whole story. You, 1. Push the Trip button until the ODO displays totoal elapsed miles (not Trip A or B). Turn car off. 1. Do not put your foot on the brake 2. Hold the Trip button down and do not release 3. Push the power button twice 4. Continue to hold the Trip button until the ODO cycles through its dance and displays elapsed miles again. 5. Release Trip button and turn power off. This is how I was told to do it and I've done it and it works.
Yeah but it does work by simply holding down the odo button while powering up the car. At least in the gen2
From the Gen III owner's manual: The oil change system should be reset. Perform the following steps: Turn the “POWER†switch OFF with the trip meter A shown. Turn the “POWER†switch ON with the MPH or km/h button (→P. 183) held down. Keep pressing the button until the odometer indicates “000000†and the multi-information display indicates that the reset is complete.
Wait! You forgot to mention that you are supposed to do this with your left arm tied behind your back...and you must use an unshoed left foot on the brake...while you hold your right eye covered. You must also wear a baseball cap backwards in the rally-cap position.
