My husband accidently slammed the door on my hand! I have a pretty nice bruise on my left hand! The door actually SHUT on it all the way with my hand inside it! Ouch! He laughed, but said he was sorry!!!
He LAUGHED? And he's still ALIVE? I would have been dead on the spot had I done that to my wife (and rightfully so).
At least he didn't walk away saying, "good luck with that." I had my hand shut in a door when I was a kid. It was the tips of my fingers and my fingernails were all purple. Hurt like Hell as I remember.
A score of years ago, I was visiting my folks and was helping around the place for a few days... I was driving my Father's 1200 Datsun into Fairfield after dropping my Mom off at CMF when the clutch slave cyl failed... I was able to pull it into the gas station on Texas near the HoJos and I called him to come get me... When he got there we opened the hood and I got under the car and found the leak dripping down the firewall from the hydraulic fluid reservoir and told him I think I can fix it with a new clutch master cyl... my hand wrapped around the fender and over the then open hood line to support me as I looked under... he understood and said we'll tow it home and I could fix it in the morning... then he slammed the hood down... my hand was under the hood halfway after he closed it... It hurt like the dickens as he ran around the car and got inside to release the hood latch and ran around the car to the front to lift the hood... I pulled my hand out as soon as he lifted the hood... the darn hood was bent but me fingers weren't broken... just bruised for a while...although, I can feel the weather fronts come in with my hand now too... Glad to hear you weren't injured badly by the bite of the Prius...
A number of years ago (man, it was actually a long time ago), I accidentally shut my sisters hand in the sliding door of our minivan. She ended up losing most of one of her fingernails, and kept at me for the next few months until it grew back...
