      Ernest, What did you end up buying? I am finishing oleh app + deciding bring my 2009 Prius, or buy a car in Israel. I've driven (and more painfully - parked) a rental in Israel each year for the last 15 years. The tears for a new car for every new scratch.. Prius seems too big for parking spaces. Your opinion for cheap on gas options in Israel?

        Tovli, my belief is that the full-size Prius is too long for parking spaces in Israeli cities. Maybe OK if you live in the countryside. I'd say consider a shorter hybrid sold in Israel: Honda Fit or Yaris hybrid. Prius C not sold there.

        $8.50 a gallon gas and roughly 30 percent tax break for hybrids suggests you should get a hybrid. Cars are painfully expensive because of the tax structure there.

        However, if money is tight, there are a lot of much cheaper, and pretty thrifty-running, little gassers you can buy. That's what 90 percent of Israelis drive.

    Own a 2020 Corolla LE hybrid. Previously owned 2012 Prius, drove girlfriend's Honda Fit (called the Jazz across the Atlantic) hybrid in Israel. Traded a 2015 Corolla gasser for the Corolla hybrid.
