On my 4 mile commute, from a cold engine and ambient temps over 12 deg C, if I start with a good charge in the HV battery I'll get high 80s mpg...
Which is a DIY job, as the dealers won't bother unless you specifically ask (and pay extra) for it.

It only works on Auto AFAIK, I believe if you hold the switch down you override it.
