Corollas can last. We are still driving our 2008.
It was rumored that the Gen 4 had 0W-16 from the factory but recommended 0W-20 because it was more widely available.

Just a guess. Taking the slower route takes longer so the engine may have time to warm up so you can get a little bit of Hybrid benefit. Too many...

How many miles on it? Sometimes as the traction battery gets near the end of its life, mileage goes down as the engine works harder to maintain...
You could improve that number with a Gen 4 Prius or a Prime. ;) I easily get that and my wife says I am not a hybrid driver.
At that mileage brakes are considered regular maintenance too.
The tires lasted 125K? My son has already replaced the ones on his 2015.
Also many rental Prius are Model One. Until late 2017 you could not even buy that low a model from Toyota. It was reserved for fleet sales.

I heard of ballast & heat issues too.
Technically they made it available but they put it on all cars and then deducted the cost so it became a mandatory zero cost "option"
They added it halfway through 2017. :( Unfortunately, I have an early 2017.

The HID headlights in the older generations are different than the LED headlights in the Gen 4.
