I started this discussion in another thread undert the Platinum Warranty Refund. I was told initially, (my car is only 3 weeks old)...that I didn't have Roadside Service Coverage, then the Service Department told me I did for 3/36,000, when I called them because I had a flat tire at 20 miles total on the car. Then...I read here that it was DCd in 06. So I spent all day on the phone yesterday. The business manager at my local Toyota dealer, said it was nowhere in my factory warranty. I told him that Service told me I definitely have it and should use it if I have a breakdown. Now he was wavering and said.. "Let me make some calls." In the afternoon, he calls back and tells me "You now do have Toyota Roadside Service! I verified it ...and you can call this # for further info..." That number was a defunct Prius #...so now I call all around... Toyota Extra Care, 1 800 GOTOYOTA, Toyota Customer Relations... since I had nothing in writing, I wanted something in writing.... Same thing....several of them said ...oh yes, you have it..and it covers...and you just have to call this number when you need it. Finally, a man in Customer Relations tells me it was discontinued for the 06 models...and I can get it if I buy a Premium or Classic Maintenance package. So, I call my dealer back, tell the business manager, who is now hopping angry, because he has the names of several people at several departments (800 numbers & corporate) who told him I definitely have it. I have Allstate until the end of August...what galled me was that NO ONE at my local dealership, NO ONE at service knew the answer..... So...the business manager feels that since I spent a good part of the day on the phone trying to verify this, he is going to call those people he spoke to who said I had it, and convince them I should GET it as a sign of good customer relations. I got a case number from Customer Relations....Everyone was very pleasant, but no one could agree. So, I am to call back on Thursday, and the business manager will let me know if he was able to get it for me as a free standing service (in writing) because of what Toyota put me through. So we will see.....My poor husband listened to me blabbing with people all day about this.... Anyone else have this problem? Any advantage in having Toyota Roadside versus Allstate or AAA?? I think they should give it to me for all the work I did, and for making them aware that all along the way, people disagreed as to whether or not I had the service. terri
