Anyone have stats on how many hybrids are still in service, by make, year and model, in light of normal attrition due to accidents, etc.?
Even Toyota didn't think hybrids would become such a fast growing market. They also didn't think the pure electric RAV4 would do so well and stopped making it. The ones that are on the road have gone well over 100,000 trouble free miles with the same batteries and no battery problems. What will be the life of the NiMH batteries, maybe 1 million miles ? I feel Lithium batteries in the 08 Prius will cause another backlog in sales for 1 to 2 years.
