Car production starting on 11/2010 has following major modifications: [FONT=Verdana,Bold][FONT=Verdana,Bold]HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM The hybrid battery hose assembly and No. 1 hybrid vehicle battery hose have been discontinued. I wouldn't doubt it. Who knows how many production changes have been made since the third generation Prius was introduced over a year ago. Over the years I have bought early production automobiles and discovered that numerous "under the hood" production improvements were made in the several following years even though the vehicle appeared nearly identical over a several year period. After that experience with several automobiles, I vowed never to buy another early production automobile. Keith
I wonder if the change is a response to these problems with stuck parking lock: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-prius-technical-discussion/86449-my-2010-broken-down.html Regular cars have a manual lock override. BTW, what is a silicon type vs mechanical type? Semiconductor vs electrical one?
I have no idea, this terminology is used by techdoc. My understanding is that they replaced the transistor/thyristor circuit with the standard coil and contacts relay. There is also some software change for instrument panel to display additional message instead of a simple beep code - "N" shift lever position related.
