    Good morning!

I joined the Prius family last week! Sold my 2011 4Runner and picked up a 2018 Prius Four Touring for a great price. I've loved every minute of it so far — except for one thing: no CarPlay.

Back in 2018, I upgraded my 4Runner with a third-party stereo that had CarPlay, and over the past 7 years, I got pretty used to all its features. So naturally, I’ve been looking into options for adding it to the Prius.

From what I’ve found so far, there’s no upgrade for the stock 11.6" display (I have the JBL E7052 unit). It seems like the only way to get CarPlay is to swap the whole stereo with a newer one — like the guy did in this YouTube video. He swapped his E7052 with an E7058 unit that has JBL audio and CarPlay, and everything appeared to work just fine.

Here’s where I could use some help: I’ve found a few E7057 units online (non-JBL, but supposedly with CarPlay or at least phone mirroring based on the photos). They're more in my price range, but I’m not sure if they’d be compatible with my car, or if it’d be as simple as plug-and-play like in the video.

Has anyone tried swapping an E7052 with an E7057 and had success? I’ve searched the forums but haven’t found a clear answer yet. Any help or insight would be appreciated!
