Hi. I have a 2014 Prius C. I recently tested the battery and it read 'low' but chargeable. I called my old garage that worked on my old Civic and one Toyota dealer. They both said the 12V battery could not be recharged and that I need to buy a new one. is this true? Thanks.
welcome! if they are saying that without testing, then no, it is not true. depending on battery health, it may or not be chargeable. at 5 years old, it probably makes sense to replace it, but if you want to be economical, swing by an auto parts store. they will load test it for free. if it is still in decent shape, you might get a couple more years out of it. all the best!
