I put a new 12 volt battery in the 2010 solar roof JBL car yesterday as the battery had 11.6 volts and no energy behind it wouldn't even spark a coat hanger touching the positive and the negative terminal which would normally turn that coat hanger red. Took the battery down to I don't even know AutoZone I think they tested it definitely dead bought a brand new Sears die hard hybrid battery AGM blah blah blah put it in the car Left the cables disconnected and put it on my charger for about an hour until it went from 60% to 100% on my digital Schumacher 150 amp charger I think it is It doesn't have wheels. After connecting up the car to the terminals everything on the car came back to life is expected and is working fine but we cannot put the driver window up no matter what we do every start of the car readying the car yields just the The driver window button light flashing and then pushing the button down the window is already down I can hear the motor click pulling up I hear nothing All other windows and everything in the car works just the driver door window and the sunroof will not tilt and slide or open and the driver window will not go up and down all the 25 amp fuses under the dash for the power windows all check out they are original Toyota fuses and they are in perfect condition they check for continuity voltage the whole nine I moved the driver window fuse with the passenger driver side window fuse the passenger back window works the driver front still does not? I haven't replaced the window motor in a Toyota since about 2005 because none of them have ever broke I'm going to try and grab another switch assembly out of another 2010 today or tomorrow and see if that makes any difference whether the switch is just bad. I don't really expect it in this car as the person that drives this car almost never uses the window the temperature control is always on in the car when in use and they don't spend that much time and drive throughs she usually gets out and goes in so I find it odd that just changing the battery all of a sudden this window doesn't work. The sunroof is moot at this point nobody ever uses it which I find hard to believe because if I have a sunroof it's almost always open.

The window failure could be just a coincidence? Windows can lose the auto-up/down function, need to be retaught that, but pure not functioning, sounds unrelated to battery swap.

So I took the window regulator out with the motor plugged it up on the bench and it works fine so I undid the motor cleaned it checked the stroke of the regulator through all the teeth to make sure it's not binding anywhere but it back together retested it again on the bench put it back in the car plugged it up took the switch rock or cap off and manually push the white depressors that actually touch the board and moved the switches and it's working so I put it up put the cap back on the switch assembly. Tell the old lady the windows up maybe leave it that way and we'll see if we can get another switch and go from there off of lower mileage card I didn't realize this car has now like 360K on it original Tuesday FXE engine with nothing done It rattled this morning for a second I need to look into that.

I took the unit out got it to work out of the car put it back in the car and the original switch assembly if you hold the switch while pulling up It will go up going down is no problem so I'm guessing the switch is just wearing out Do I need to find a switch assembly for the 2010 a used is probably going to be near what I have right now so we'll have to see who makes what.
