When I plug a 12V accessory into the 12V dash outlet then remove it, the 12V dash outlet slips out somewhat, and I have to push it back in to close the cover over it. Is this a problem, or does this commonly happen? Thanks.

It's not supposed to do this. I bet a clip is loose somewhere. It should still be under warranty on a 2006, so ask the dealer to fix it.
Has happened the first couple of times I connected the power cord for my GPS. The metal tabs on the plug (I don't know the technical term) lost a bit of their springiness with repeated use, and the problem disappeared.

<_< I'm in my second Prius and both dash 12v outlets have a lining which tends to slip out about ¼" when I remove a power cable. Seems it's just a very tight fit. I also found, in both Prius, that the plastic cover would not catch shut after 6 or 8 uses of the outlet. I finally just cut the cover off.
This is not a Prius-only event.. It seems to be a design flaw common to many Toyota models.. The lighter socket on my Classic Prius pulls out sometimes, and so did the one on the Corolla I owned before, and also on the Tercel that I owned before that.. I have a friend with a Camry where that happened all the time as well...
Thanks for the replies. The 12V outlet does not slip all the way out, but rather about 1/4"as Charles said. I thought that when I first got the car, it did not do this. Perhaps I'll call the dealer and ask them about it to see what they say. Thanks again.
