I'm wondering if anyone knows if the stock 17in 5 spoke wheels off of the Camry or Matrix will work on our 2010 Prius? It's too hard and too expensive to find the Level V wheels any where. The bolt pattern should be fine, but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to backspacing, etc.
The bolt pattern for the Prius is 5-100 and the Camry is 5-114 so that is a no go. Here is more information on wheel offset. Offset Tech Knowledgebase - Wheel Backspacing and Offset Wheel Tech - Offset Bolt Pattern Wheel Tech - Bolt Pattern
The Matrix rims will fit though. That has a 5x100 bolt pattern and very similar offsets, although I think those rims will be a lot heavier than the stock 15s. As for the OEM 17s, they look nice but are fairly heavy. I keep debating whether I want to keep them or swap them out for some lighter aftermarket 17s.
@HI MPG - I completely agree, but I'm willing to trade a little extra rolling mass for the look of those level V wheels. That look just works for me. I haven't found an after market wheel I like better. Let me know if you go aftermarket and want to off load your wheels. Thanks for the great info both of you!
The hottest aftermarket wheels are from Five Axis. I do agree that most light wheels have thin spokes, which I do not care for. I love the OEM 17s (which is why I have a V).
