New Prius C2 Owner. It has been 2 weeks (and two days). It has seen 1080 miles....took a few trips to see the folks. Averaging 45mpg overall, usually 50-55+ in city however. Highest I got was 65mpg. Haven't see that since the weather has been under 50F the last week or so. Just thought I would chime in. Never made one of these new member posts when I first got the car.
Welcome. I have had my C for about 10 months now. Never had a problem. Based upon my experience you will get better mileage now that it is getting warmer and as your C breaks in further.
The mileage jumped once the temperature did. I get 55 average for the last few days. I guess being above freezing in the morning now changes things. The gas engine forgot to engage yesterday when I was going up a hill. It was funny to see the battery take a huge hit.
It didn't engage when I went uphill. I think it was a fluke, the traffic was bad and I was going pretty slow.
No fluke. If you aren't demanding much, it will stay in EV mode, even up a hill. I've got almost 10,000 on my C and I'm really enjoying the car.....and the gas mileage. Enjoy and Welcome!
The weather is huge. I traveled over 600 miles this weekend and averaged 52mpg on the interstate traveling 70mph or higher (mostly on cruse control) going on moderate hills. 70 degrees is sweet.
