2001 Cruise control upgrade on Ebay

    This item claims to add cruise to any 2001-2003 Prius:

    Can anyone tell me how difficult a job it is to switch steering wheels? I am very wary of doing any work around the airbag. If it is a relatively easy job it looks like a pretty good deal.

    Hey Cal, please read my reply on this topic in the "Modifications" section. The ebay guy in Winona is only a few dollars higher than metrotpn; take your pick.

    I was scared handling the airbag too, because it was a very dry "staticky" day. I was grounding like mad. But in SC you will have humidity on your side. No worries. Just carefully follow the instructions for shutting down all the electricals.

    I should have mentioned in the earlier message that to pull the steering wheel off its splined shaft, you can either use a gear puller or "motivate" its backside with a soft hammer. Either way works.

    Two classic Prius cruise control questions on one day. What are the chances of that?
