Do perfomance (horsepower/torque/handling) modifications for the 2003 Prius exist through TRD? I was thinking along the lines of upgraded suspension systems, or turbos. I'm thinking about upgrading a 2003 because I can't seem to get warm and fuzzy about the third generation 04/05 body style, so I was looking for alternatives. Thanks, Catfromtex
Hi folks, The latest edition of the Oz electronics magazine Silicon Chip (March 2006) has an article titled "The World's Most Highly Modified Hybrid Petrol/Electric Car" Apparently they have done various mods to a 2003 model (NW10), resulting in much improvement in power output and also better fuel figures. It discusses some of what they did, not a "how to do it" instruction. In summarising, they say some of the mods include anti-sway bar, electronically modifed electric power steering, on-dash mixture indication, electronically controlled high pressure intercooler water spray,under-floor aerodynamic changes and other bits and pieces. Results quoted: Engine power increased to 53kw Electric power increased to 33kw Hill climbing improved 80% 100kph open road fuel useage = 5.5 L/100Km Driven hard = 5.8L/100Km I don't know if the mag. is sold in US, but they have a website here.
