Dear Prius Chat, I'm offering my 2004 for sale, $2,250 or best offer: 230K miles Tideland Pearl exterior, ivory cloth interior Excellent mechanical condition, no known mechanical issues. Air conditioning works great in the hot southern AZ summer. Iridium spark plugs just replaced (for the second time) with the correct Denso original equipment spec plugs. New windshield installed in 2016. New Michelin Defender tires (from Costco) with ~1K miles on the tires My wife just returned from a trip to Sedona and Pinetop (~800 miles or so) and logged 49 mpg. My dad was the original owner and the car was first located in Honolulu. I bought the car when it was three years old and had logged 15K miles. During my ownership the car has been located in southern CA and southern AZ. Since the car was originally sold by Servco Pacific, it doesn't have exactly the same optional equipment package as found in mainland USA models. It is basically fully-equipped except it does not have navigation. It has HID headlights (which are original), fog lights, and front/rear side airbags. Stereo has JBL speakers with 6 CD player and cassette tape player. Cosmetic condition is not great: road rash on hood, slight dent on the left rear door where someone hit the Prius in a parking lot, right rear molding at door glass beginning to crack, silver paint on wheels fading. Paint clear coat on spoiler and rear hatch garnish (above license plate) coming off base coat. Some hail damage on roof, left rear quarter panel and left rear door. The car has been in three accidents: left rear quarter panel was replaced after one accident. Driver's door skin replaced after another accident. All accident damage was professionally repaired. I also listed the car on Craig's List, Tucson, and the listing includes 11 photos: tucson.craigslist.org/cto/6001236150.html
says something for well cared for prius batteries in hot climates i think. looks like a great deal for someone, all the best patrick.
Good care and respectful owners will see this miles easy and this was tough environment to drive ....air condition is also necessary not for driver....but for hybrid battery to keep all in check.... Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
The 2004 sold this afternoon to a woman who saw the car with her BF. They were the first to see the car. A total of 15-16 queries about the car in less than 24 hours, mostly text msg, three emails, three or four phone calls. I was amazed at how much reach Craig's List had, considering Tucson is a relatively small city, ~1M population in the greater metropolitan area.
There really isn't much you can buy for $2300 now. At that price point, you would get lots of interests. And also this is a very popular uber car. 2 years later, you can finally enjoy the newish prius
So true. If I had known how easy it would be to sell the 2004 I would have done that in early 2015. After getting the low-ball trade-in offer while buying the 2015, my wife and I decided to keep the 2004 for a while to see how long it would last. Well, it continued to last and it is now time to let someone else benefit...
I bought a 2004 last week. It's rear passenger side quarter panel is pushed in. It runs and drives, new tires. It has HID headlamps. It's that dark red color. I bought it for $300 dollars. 300.. the hybrid battery works great and seems to have good capacity too! It does need an o2 sensor and a few other things. Super happy with my purchase!
It was probably worth 1k more. 2k would have been an auction price. 2nd gen is only worth 2k with a bad history, otherwise over 3k.
