Hello, I installed a line out adapter to my radio following wire diagram, added an amp, powered from aux battery, grounded to frame, and everything was fine. Aux battery went low, charged it and got the number 6 code car with thermometer looking thing. Jump started car, engine started was able to drive. Days later swapped out AMPs found water in trunk, dried it out flex sealed it and put car back together. Tried to start , aux battery low, tried to jump start same code now with the triangle of death. Autozone said battery was bad, replaced aux battery car still wont start codes are the same. Removed lineout amp box, replaced aux battery, still have red triangle of death. Used system check mode EMV ok, g/w ok, audio h/v had yellow CHEK. Pressed CHEK reads memory 62-45, no codes, code clear doesnt work. Now under EMV the following codes come up 01-D9 178-02-1. 190-BA-1, and 01 DC 1C6-AF-F, 190-20-5 are present. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Marie
You need a Toyota hybrid compatible OBD2 scanner to retrieve the codes (DTCs) that are stored in the various ECUs. Even a free OBD2 scan from the local auto parts chain might get you pointed in the right direction, or just turn up no DTCs and still leaves you wondering what is wrong with the vehicle. Many choose to use a mini-vci cable and a copy of techstream (same software the dealer uses), others grab a OBD2 blue tooth or wifi adapter and run an app like Dr Prius or Hybrid Assistant from a phone or related device. If going the 'adapter' route, be sure to read this page at the Dr's website : Hybrid battery diagnostic and repair tool for Toyota and Lexus
