In a multi-step process of switching out the OEM driver's seat with a Recaro that I've had on hand for years (also moving it back 4 to 6 inches for more leg room), here's what I discovered; the dead pedal, footrest, whatever you want to call the block on the floor to the left of the brake pedal-it WILL just pop right out. I used a small, flat pry bar (metal) like the kind carpenters and painters use. Under it are two studs surrounded with plastic sleeves-they don't really protude much so I just covered them up with a scrap piece of floormat. AHH! MUCH better, contrary to other opinions on this forum!
No problem at all take out anything you want off the floor obviously you're one of those 6'7 people or something like that and you require your seat back to be touching the forward edge of the back seat with your rac seats not sure what you're doing about bracketry but I don't want to know they can all be civilly solved with a die grinder and what have you You can make your own brackets from seat brackets you cut off of another Toyota seat if you remove them properly It's not a real hard thing to do maybe rec brackets for Corolla might work I don't know but doesn't generally easy things to get past their universal seat brackets that can be sliced and diced to make your job a little easier maybe If you're setting your seat up so that no one else has to drive it then you can just weld everything and it doesn't have to move.
