I have an 05 Prius. Occasionally when the battery gets down to 2 bars the engine starts revving and I smell something bad - like the transformer from my old electric train. Actually I own two 2005 Prius's. The other one never does this. What do you think?
Doesn't sound good. Is the smell coming from the traction battery behind the rear seat? I suppose that no warning lights appear?
I was hoping it was revving when the battery was full, not empty. I live in Roxborough by the way (Littleton). Regards, Dave
Do you have any other symptoms? Does the battery otherwise appear to charge and discharge properly? Regards, Dave
