I had to get some repairs done on my 2005 Prius. When I got the car back, both key fobs only work when put in the key slot ("ignition"). They don't work to click any of the buttons to unlock door, the panic button doesnt work and it definitely doesn't work when walking up to the door. I tried changing both key fob batteries and even tried the "chicken dance" to no avail. When doing the chicken dance I can get to the part where it will be in programming mode, it just never accepts the programming on either key (when doing the holding lock/unlock, etc) because the doors never lock/unlock to acknowledge acceptance of the programming. What happened and how can I fix this??
There is a button below the steering wheel column labeled "key", check to see if the button is pushed in, it needs to be out. If pushed in, it deactivates the smart fob and you have to use your fob manually.
That's was going to be my guess but the FOB's aren't working in non-sks fashion either (can't use a fob button to click open the door locks).
