my 2005 got the triangle of death at 118219 miles.remove battery replace bad cell reinstall all good except after ten miles at high seed driving it get the triangle of death . reset with my code reader all well . again.no code but can reset with reader???
There probably is a code but maybe your reader cant access it? What code reader do you have? Also, did you thoroughly check all the other cells? Perhaps there were more than just the one you replaced?
You need to get the mini VCI reader for doing battery related work on the Prius. Generic readers are of no use.
I thought there was much more to it than just replacing 1 bad cell..... Isnt a charge and re-balance of each cell in the whole pack pretty much a necessity when replacing bad cell(s)?
Since most people don't have the tools to do the job properly, and are only doing it halfway anyway. Whatever replacement module you do get is not going to be exactly matched to the used ones you currently have. So for DIY guys at home in their garage, you may as well just get the replacement module close enough to the same voltage,put it in and move on. The reality is you are going to have to go back in there again anyway since you aren't doing the fully regimen of the testing. For example, commonly, most people don't have the tools to check internal resistance, tools to do load testing, or tools to check capacity.
Before you get in to opening batteries, check to see if your Hybrid system is under warranty. New York adopted California Emissions law, covering your hybrid components for 10 years/150k whichever comes first.

Unfortunately this is what usually happens when people just put in new modules, balance and away you go.......turns into a game of whack-a-mole. Far better use of your time to buy the proper chargers, run both capacity and load tests on every module (including new ones), replace any bad modules, reposition all the modules to give you the most even load test average by block, balance the whole pack and you should have a battery that's good for a long time to come. It sounds like alot of work, but really it's not hard once you get the hang of it.
