Drove 500 miles this past weekend and got around 38 mpg going. Well, on the way back I was getting about the same until we stopped to eat lunch. When we took off I noticed that the engine was running a lot more, and that my fuel consumption was staying below 25. I drove all the way home and only got 25.2 mpg. I noticed on the energy board that the main battery was taking forever to charge up, and when it would charge up, it didn't take long at all to uncharge. I also noticed that it would use the engine and battery at the same time alot, which drained my battery. Why would it go from 38 to 25 under the same driving conditions?

2500-3000$ for a new factory installed traction battery, 50 mpg for 100,000 miles, or not.
