There are plenty of threads that say you could do just fine in a snowy area with a prius. Just sayin'. . _H*
I've driven it in all over Summit County, Colorado (Breck, Keystone, A-basin, Vail, Beaver, Copper, etc) the past four winter seasons and it did just fine for getting around. The traction control is silly slow in the soft stuff at times because of the delayed acceleration. I'll be moving to Lake Tahoe and I know getting around that lake (especially on the West side) in the winter can get interesting. Plus I can't tow the snowmobile with the Prius!
