2006 Prius Open Door Light On

My 2006 Prius has an open door dash light that is constantly on. It started around the time that I had a sticky latch release on my hatch door. I did manage to get the latch door open but now my open door light is permanently on. Also, and possibly related, the lead acid battery drains if the car is not run every day or two. I tested my battery and it is still good. I have sprayed WD-40 (lots of it!) into the rear latch but that was not a fix. What else should I try?
