Last drove the car two days ago locally.

Drove today on the motorway for just over an hour. Red triangle plus hybrid warning came on.

I then had to drive for a couple of miles before I could find anywhere to pull up and park.

The warning lights come on every time I restart the car. It’s not internittent.

Nothing about the driving experience seemed off. Nothing in the car’s recent history seems like it could have caused this, though what do I know.

I’m waiting for the tow truck now.

I don’t have a code reader. I realize that without codes, anything you can tell me is no better than a wild guess.

But my garage is closed till Monday and I could do with the emotional support. Please come at me with your best most wildest guesses as to the manner and extent of how screwed I am.

Inverter overheat due to a failed pump which might have died during winter but you'd only learn about it in summer. Car largely functional but loses upper-end power.

    Wow! Thanks for that interpretation.

Assuming you’re right, is it gonna be hell to fix?

Update: the yellow brake system warning light ((!)) is also on. I didn’t notice this before.

Yeah, no it's not the inverter pump then.

I bet it’s corrosion of the hybrid battery from the leak last year. There would have been standing water in there for ages.

Code P0A84 is the one that needs to be fixed. Check for corrosion in the electrical connector for the hybrid battery cooling fan. This is a very common problem for a Gen 2 Prius.
