2007 Toyota Prius Audio Question

    So i have a 2007 Toyota Prius, and my cd player recently decided it wasn't going to read CDs anymore. I'm curious to know, if i get a type 2 stereo (one with a CD drive and AUX port) could i use that with my type 3 set up (originally no AUX input just the CD and radio)??
