I have read the brake noise threads, but mine makes three knocking sounds right at the point of stopping. The dealer has talked with Toyota, and Toyota sent them a shim kit ?? to install . This helped but still have problem occasionally. I also install the BT stiffing plate. Works great. Any ideas on the brake noise would be appreciated.
Are you sure the sound is coming from the brakes? Anything loose in the back under the floor board? Tom
My 08 makes what could best be described as a popping noise. Its sounds like someone is tapping on the rotors with a hammer real quick. I just assumed it was normal as the car makes more noises then a haunted house.
Nothing loose in the back. The noise is coming from the front brakes. Problemchild has the same problem. Tapping sound is a good description of the noise.
