Welcome to PriusChat!! When did you replace the HV battery? What did you replace the HV battery with, was it new OEM or something else?
@hrodgmc recently wrote: It’s been sitting for 6-8 months. Replaced traction battery Then @SFO asked: When did you replace the HV battery? What did you replace the HV battery with, was it new OEM or something else? Then @hrodgmc replied: Hv hasn't been replaced. Is that step #1? And I now state.... I'm so confused, lol, but we're here to help. There's enough member knowledge here that we'll get you fixed up. It's just a matter of getting terminology organized. I'll go with the assumption the 12v battery was replaced. The first thing to do is ensure the 12v battery is fully charged to prevent you from chasing your tail during troubleshooting. There's always the chance this may cure other issues also. Most likely, after sitting 8 months, you have one or more modules in the HV battery that have self-discharged and are causing problems. Where are you in Georgia?
P3000 is replace the hybrid battery. The 12 volt battery is probably bad too. Before you reply do some reading please. Use the search forums tab up top and search hybrid battery and see what everyone and there brother is going through with there G2 and the hybrid battery. .
P0A80=Replace Hybrid Battery Pack P3000=HV Battery Malfunction. Triggered by the Hybrid Control ecu receiving an abnormal signal from the HV Battery ecu. I think there are 5 subcodes to help isolate the actual cause. Anything from fuse blowing, fan failing, battery ecu failing, abnormal low voltage, etc. And you are 100% correct about Prius chaos going on now that so many have sat idle for 2 months during lockdown. Anyone with a Gen 2 and an original battery is likely to be in the hurt locker. Not to mention how many dead 12v batteries.
HV battery is original. This car was purchased non running with mininal details. We installed a new 12v battery and put a fully charged snap-on jump box during startup. 190k miles on the car. Unknown history. I will be looking at battery pack today and verifying ready light is off or on. Will report Where are you in Georgia?[/QUOTE] Vidalia GA almost between Savannah and Macon
Without a charged and functioning HV battery you will not be able to start the engine, as that battery also rotates the engine.
