I am looking for an aftermarket audio/navi faceplate for my 2010 II Prius. Does anyone know of anyone currently producing these? Thanks!
Why would he get flamed? Sorry, I can't help. The car may still be too new for much to be around. There are after market things around, try Sigma Automotive. Others will have more ideas where to look.
It's "you're" (a contraction for "you are"), not "your" (belonging to you). Somewhere deep inside another thread, someone mentioned that they had been in contact with a company that manufactured aftermarket faceplates and it was going to be sometime in the fall before they were released.
As a second hint, look in the section that has "gen-iii-2010-prius-audio-electronics" as its headline
Let's give the OP a break, OK? I mean, their first post.... Not easy to know the rules and understand how everything is laid out, such as sub-forums for Audio or Mods, etc. We should give new members/posters some breathing room. We were all newbies here at some point in time. Your post-response was very rude IMO - would YOU have spoken THAT in person to the OP? Before you ask, I would speak MY response to you in person.
OH MY GOD you used a comma splice and maybe a run-on sentence! (kidding - we really don't need the grammar lessons ) Telling a person to search is no different than a teacher telling a student to read the book before they ask questions. What's annoying is the general laziness of people.
This is a quote of "his telling": For posting in the wrong forum, failing to do even a cursory search, or wasting everyone's time? Amazing what some people will do online that they would never do in person. First of all - consider it was this poster's first day in class. Second, it wasn't how it was "told" - it was the demeaning and crude way it was done. Why is this poster singled out? If many members here responded as you two, we would have a lot less postings. Let's keep it civil and friendly. And helpful. That's what a Forum as this is all about. Not personal assault. There are many initial posts opened that could have been answered with a search, or at least coupled with a previous one. Sorry you've been annoyed. Oh, if my grammar didn't meet your standards - please correct it.
If you insist on taking that analogy, then it must be pointed out that the answer to the OP's question was already written on the blackboard when OP walked into class. Show me a teacher that wouldn't be annoyed by a student failing to take advantage of readily available and obvious information and I'll show you a living saint.
And as long as we're on the subject of rude replies, I might point out that Rachael is a woman's name. But then I guess only men know anything about cars, right?
I teach anatomy and physiology to college students on days I don't see patients. It's always surprising to see how each new crop of students finds novel ways to be lazy and .. well, ... stupid
This Forum is not a classroom. It's here to share information. Rachael - I didn't catch your handle and I'm sorry for the "his". It was not meant to be rude - just an oversight. And your insinuation that it was is....rude. Your analogy of the blackboard. Perhaps --- but, the blackboard you're referring to is not out and obvious, or on the open wall. And even if it was - why chastise a new student - right in front of the entire class? If a (good) teacher perceives that many new students may be "lazy" or "failing to take advantage..." perhaps a general class announcement would be more effective rather than chastising the last new student just entering the classroom... There have been some new posters here that mentioned some Prius owners may be haughty or smug. These type of responses to new members may tend to exacerbate that misconception. We're not students here and all on an equal platform. There's no tests. And shouldn't talk down to others. Let's take a deep breath and just call this one a day. OK?
Fair enough. So much subtlety is lost with the (often hastily) written word, that these things always seem to escalate beyond all reason. I'm sorry if I came down too harshly on the newbie and I hope he/she will continue to stick around and enjoy the company of other Prius people.
Thanks Rachael. I sure agree with that; and as in emails it's too easy to be hit & run and non-subtle. I look back at the original post on this thread and tend to see it as an innocent attempt to join in and get an answer. Nonetheless - you&me - we're friends...OK? Perhaps it's time to hum 'We are the world". Heaven know we all need more of that. Thanks again, that was very sweet of you.
Can I get a round of Kumbaya to seal the deal? It's all good, Dean and ya gotta have friends :grouphug:
