i have been tasked with selling my daughter in law's mothers car. it is in perfect condition with 33, 600 miles. the proverbial little old lady from pasadena. it is the lxs base model, no accidents, dents, etc. always maintained by the honda service schedule and garaged. recent detailing, oil change and brand new tires. kbb.com prices it from $8,500.-$9,500. in very good condition. seems to me these are very popular cars, anyone have any experience with the demand and value?
Pictures! ...or it never happened. Too bad I'm not closer, Much as I would love to have an excuse to please come to Bastan to try some of Mrs Bisco's Christmas cookies, you would probably be better served selling by the car locally. This is a perfect college kid car, and I'd hold out for $9k Drive it around for a while with "4-SALE" inked on the windshield and a number for interested folks to call or text. (preferably a spare cell phone! )
Sounds like a creampuff from the description. Honda much like Toyota makes a very reliable gasser, Hybrids maybe not so much for a multitude of reasons. There are a lot of civics on the road and for sale, should be a fairly easy car to sell. I drove a used LX with around 90k iirc and the ride seemed a lot looser than the EX gasser or MX hybrid models. At 33k the ride should still feel good even in the LX base. "Valve Timing Variable" is called VTEC that opens the second set of valves/cylinder using oil pressure at higher RPM for better performance ( the little ole ladies from Pasadena always like on colorado blvd.) VTEC - Wikipedia To bad VTEC doesn't help mpg 2010 is rated 25-36 and my 02 civic EX got 32-40 when new, but is also a lighter car.
You need to compare like to like tests. There was major overhaul to the EPA window sticker tests in 2008. Compare Side-by-Side They are about the same, but the 2010 produces more power and torque. Enough to have a better power to weight ratio.
Sounds to me like the gov needs to do a few more major overhauls. lol The power to weight thing may be correct and I've never driven a gasser newer than the 02. so I have no data to compare IRL results. The 02 replaced a 94 intrepid, so I was really happy with my real world 32/40 back than.
If you regularly beat, the comparable, EPA in the old Civic, you would probably do the same in the new.
Possibly, but it wasn't beating the original EPA. Coming from the previous Intrepid, which I never bothered keeping track of mpg, I turned a new lease on mpg records with the new civic. Good thing too, after the first dealer service, 3500 miles, I noticed after a trip to Miami my highway mileage was 30. I took the car to a honda custom speed shop in Hialeah and asked if an extra quart of oil in the 1.7 liter SOHC would reduce mileage that much. Are you at all surprised that they confirmed it would? I had them change the oil for me and on the return trip the car got it's normal 40 mpg on the highway. Over fills on oil changes appear to be a Honda legacy. as always ymmy and usually does.
Pasadena is near here, but it’s in Boston? My wife’s ‘18 Clarity PHEV has a dipstick. Maybe it’s hiding from you...
Dipsticks can be hard to spot in some cars, but apparently, the Civic one is a bright orange, like hybrid high voltage cables, and right on top. Check Oil Level 2006-2011 Honda Civic - 2007 Honda Civic LX 1.8L 4 Cyl. Sedan (4 Door)
Mine either. Just got an email / spam today about new glasses that protect the eyes from the blue light emitted from LED screens we all tend to look at way to much these days. Must be a market for almost everything under the sun, now blue light shades.
Yeah, all my cars had a loop or T-handle sticking out of an obvious "this is a dip stick" well, not a knob right on top of the valve cover.
the only other honda engine i've ever seen was my daughters 99 accord. but i never checked the oil. i was beginning to think they did it all with the oil monitoring system.
You haven’t SOLD that thing yet? Don’t make me come out there.... Have you tried posting it in the for-sale sub-forum in PC?
In the video it looks like a ball with a hole/dimple in the center. I'll compromise and call it a ball-loop. moto g(7) power ?
a local cop came by and tried to low ball me when i had a sign on it in the driveway. i took it up to the local gas station, he sells cars for a @$300. fee. it gives some people comfort that a local mech gives it his stamp of approval. tough time of year though. if it doesn't sell by the time we leave for florida, i'll stick it in the barn until spring.
