We're ordering a 2010 Prius IV and are trying to decide if the navigation package is worth the cost. My understanding is that the base model IV is bluetooth-phone ready. So it seems like the value to us in the nav package is mostly in bluetooth music streaming and DVD-based navigation. I'd appreciate input on whether the 2010 navigation package is worth the cost on a model IV. Also info on aftermarket options would be appreciated. Thx! --Kira
and the backup camera and XMNavTraffic. It really depends on what you're looking for in a navigation system. If you travel a lot, then maybe a PND (portable navigation device) would better suit you. If you do a lot of road trips, then maybe a factory nav works better (because you don't have to deal with wires and suction cups every time you park the car). If you have multiple cars that are used often, then a PND might work best. If the Prius will be the primary vehicle, then perhaps you can splurge on a factory nav option. How built up is your area? If it's under construction and lotsa new places are popping up, then maybe a PND works better because the map updates are cheaper. If your neighbourhood is fairly stable and you don't need a new map every year, a factory nav works (note you don't have to update every year. My PND is still running on Jan 2007 maps)
