Hello, Im currently in the market looking at a prius IV with about 90k mileage on it. This package has the solar roof included. I've heard about the 2010 models having more issues than 2011+ with the control valve etc. Asking price is 11k. Do you all think this is a good deal?
There are 55 2010 Prius IV listed on cars.com and the $11000 price is almost at the bottom. Mileage runs 31000 to 89000 miles. These cars could be the base model, IV-Nav, or IV-Solar. Without doing a lot of research it sounds like a reasonable price. I have no experience with the solar roof and have had no problems with my 2010. Very early production in 2009 did not have a USB port in the arm rest. I seem to recall it was added in the summer but I'm not sure. Safety Connect was added in the fall. 2010 was a very long model year. Register the VIN at Toyota Owners Official Web Site to see the dealer service history.
maybe a few more squeaks and rattles? i don't think anything serious except some people saying they start to burn oil around 100k. but i don't know what percentage, or how you would check.
The winter of 2009-2010 was bitter and the Prius did creak and groan. I don't know if I just got used to it or the hearing is going. It does burn oil. I don't know when it started and I don't know how much it burns as I just pour some in when it gets low enough. It isn't enough to see, notice, or be concerned about.
Seems a little on the high end price wise.. I just got a 2012 with solar roof and 53k miles for 14k from my local Toyota dealer including getting them to throw in lifetime oil changes Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
