I travel back and forth from the Boston Massachusetts area to Whistler BC witch is about 3500 miles. I bought a towing basket (metal not aluminum) from harbor freight and put a Curtis 1.25 hitch on the Prius. In order to mount the basket I had to get a 1.25" adapter to 2". I just put it on the Prius and the adapter pushes the basket about 7" further away from the car. I am planning to put the lightest stuff (clothes ets) in the basket, Anyone have any similar experience with either towing carrier baskets and 1.25 to 2" adapters? I also got a Rola bag to keep stuff dry. Thanks for any help.
