2011 Prius Four: "P" (park indicator on dash) in a frame?

    New to us is a second Prius. This is a 2011 Four. The car performs fine. I see that the "P" for the Park indicator shown on the dash display has a frame around it in normal operation in Reverse and Drive. The P becomes backfilled as do the other positions when selected. But, why the frame when it is not selected?

    Is this normal? Our 2012 v Five does not frame the P.

    Normal as far as I can tell. Mine does it. The bracket stays around the P while the highlight (backfilled) moves depending on shift lever position.

    Thanks. I had our 2012 v to compare with the P-frame and they did not compare. The manual was silent on the issue. Glad to know this is normal.
